It gets pretty easily to distortion level. The more side definitely adds some volume and it can be used as a volume boost for lead. If you have any minstrel v.3 clips please share them!Ĭlick to expand.I've never tried the Jester so I will refer only to questions 2 and 3 - though to the best of my knowledge the jester emphasizes the low mid frequencies while the minstrel emphasizes the high mid high frequencies. How much gain do you get with the minstrel, similar to a KOT (normal) to a tube screamer to a rat? (not talking about the EQ or gain structure just the gain on tap)ĥ. How much boost do you get when engaging the 'more' side, is it useable live as a lead boost? how are you guys using the 'more'? I ask because I see it doesn't have a dedicated volume knob for the more side, is it hard to use it like that?Ĥ. How close is the EQ on the pedal to the jester?ģ. How close is the gain structure to the Jester, are we talking basically the same, close or different?Ģ. I had a Jester some time ago It was ok but It didn't make the cut so I eventually sold it, I feel the minstrel takes care of a lot of the issues I had with the Jester, I definitely prefer a dual overdrive (instead of od + boost) smaller box, easier to power up, and now I can ask for a better/more usable taper on the volumen pot.įor the experts here I have a couple of questions if you could indulge me!ġ.
Ok, I'm back I'm gonna get (eventually) a minstrel v.3 new.
